What employers are looking for international contractors
Actually this is a FAQ for us. We get asked all the time what type of companies are hiring contractors internationally so we did a bit of a survey internally of everyone we knew who had done an overseas freelance assignment and jotted down the list of end clients. It is really a who's who of the biggest companies in the world:
IT/Software Services/Systems Integrators: IBM Global Services, EDS, Accenture, SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft, Siebel, HP, CSC, Cap Gemini, SIEMENS Business Services, Dell, Intel, Cognizant, SAIC, CACI International, Unisys, SRA International, ManTech International, Apple + so many more our fingers got tired typing them all out.

Mobile operators, integrators and manufacturers including: RIM, Ericcson, Nokia, Vodafone, T-Mobile, ATT, BT, Orange, Deutsche Telekom, Verizon, China Mobile, Telecom Italia Mobile, Movistar, NTT DoCoMo, Sprint, Telefonica, Alcatel-Lucent, America Movil, Telstra, O2, Telenor, China Unicom, Airtel, America Movil, Comcast, Nippon Telegraph & Telephone, France Telecom and I'm sure we forgot a bunch here.

Financial Services including: HSBC, Chase Manhattan, Credit Agricole, ABN Amro, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Citigroup / Citibank, ING, AXA, Fortis, Credit Suisse, Lloyds TSB, Banco Santander, NAB, UBS, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Sumitomo, Allianz, Dresdner Bank, Munich Re, Hypovereinsbank, DZ Bank, Commerzbank, Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, Rabobank, NatWest, Barclays, RBS, JP Morgan, Halifax, ICBC, CBA, Westpac, ADP, Equifax, State Street, Man Financial, etc. We could have gone on and on here.
In fact Financial Services Software companies is a huge area for international contractors. Companies like BAE Systems, DST, Fiserv, Thomson Reuters, Murex, Sungard Data Systems, Polaris, SimCorp, Linedata, Tata, LatentZero, Fidelity, Detica, Asset Control, GoldenPath, Misys, GoldenSource.

Fortune 500 style companies outside the above including: Walmart, GM, Shell, BP, Ford, GE, Total, ING, AXA, SONY, Peugeot, Daimler Chrysler/Mercedes Benz, VW/Audi, SIEMENS, Metro, E.On, RWE, BMW, Detsche Post, Thyssen, Robert Bosch, BASF, Bayer, DZ Bank, Franz Haniel, TUI, Deutsche Bahn, Bretelsmann, LBW, BLB, Lufthansa, MAN, Karstadt Quelle, Otto, RAG, WestLB, Edeka, Continental, etc

Wow it is alot right? We're a bit overwhelmed ourselves. Many of these companies have specialist global mobility departments just to move employees and contractors around on short term international assignments. And its an area that is growing all the time. Can you tell we're excited to be a part of it? It's a hundred miles an hour!!
