Philippines

The national economy of the Philippines is the 48th largest in the world with an estimated GDP (nominal) for 2009 of $161 billion.

Philippine GDP grew nearly 7% in 2010. Primary exports of the Philippines include semiconductors and electronic products, transport equipment, copper products and petroleum products. Goldman Sachs includes the Philippines in its list of the “next eleven” economies.

As a result international companies are increasingly looking at the Philippines as a place to pitch their services. When providing services in the Philippines they will either have to relocate their own staff or source international contractors.

It is very difficult to start a company in the Philippines as a foreign owned enterprise and as such if these companies wish to relocate their staff or source international contractors they will require a locally based Contractor Management Company to provide a full employed local solution for their employees.

This will entail Philippine Permits and local Philippine payroll. As an individual, working in the Philippines can be a highly rewarding experience, an opportunity to experience living in the Asia whilst earning very high rates.
